Who’s who in SuperControl: Jade

It’s time to say hello to our Agency Account Manager, Jade Winning. Well-known by many original SuperControllers and a true holiday rental expert, Jade has many years under her belt here at SuperControl – who wants to find out more?

Jade Winning, Agency Account Manager at SuperControlTell us about yourself!
I’ve recently had my first child, Rory, who has made my life complete. In my spare time I strap Rory on my back and we go walking. I’m lucky to live in the beautiful area of Wigtownshire or The Shire as the locals say. The Galloway hills are really beautiful. When I have some me-time I enjoy cooking, listening to music and reading.

How long have you worked at SuperControl?  What’s changed during your time here?
I’ve worked here since 2009 when the office was at Orroland. Now we are moving again and it’s great to have even more colleagues to share the excitement with.

Tell us about your role at SuperControl. What do you do?
My job looks at all aspects of service that SuperControl delivers, from property management tools through to the guests’ experience. I analyse how our clients currently use their account to manage their self-catering business, and look for ways they could be making even more of SuperControl. Then I liaise with my colleagues and our clients to make sure that happens.

What aspect of your job do you enjoy most?
Many clients are like old friends so it’s interesting to find out how life is going and have a catch up. The best part of my job is seeing positive outcomes following our recommendations and advice. It’s really amazing how simple changes can have in some cases huge impacts. Knowing our hard work and dedication to self-catering is making a difference makes everything worthwhile.

What’s been your favourite moment  during your time at SuperControl so far?
I have many nice memories of working at SuperControl. Probably the funniest however (well, it wasn’t funny at the time), happened when the office was based at Orroland. One morning the snow was so bad that Charlotte and I got stuck, and Robert came to the rescue in his snowmobile. That was one way to travel to work, but at least he provided blankets!

A road trip to Cornwall is another favourite moment.  I was nervous about public speaking but the people were so kind and made me feel so relaxed that I ended up enjoying it. It was great to have time to chat with clients who I’d been helping for many years.

And travelling to Poland to meet our technical team was exciting. It was fun to join our office in Bydgoszcz and get to know my colleagues better.

What’s your favourite type of holiday? What do you look for in a holiday rental and what puts you off?

My favourite type of holiday is going somewhere a bit special that sets the difference from being at home. I love self-catering and the extra special touches that stand out from the rest. What attracts me to book is having a nice website with lots of good quality photos. Also, attention to detail – offering higher quality toiletries, welcome hampers – and it’s nice to have an open fire or a nice view.

Things that put me off is when a website seems old and hasn’t been updated in a while.
