“I’ve worked for SuperControl as a Database Administrator in the Bydgoszcz office for over six years now. Technology has always fascinated me; I still remember getting my first computer and being entranced by how it worked. At school, my peers would often ask me to create webpages for them as I’d mastered all things tech. As you can imagine, I also became very popular at home when someone in my family had an issue with their devices!
“With my passion for technology, it was natural for me to study a master’s degree in computer science. Over the years, my interest in computing has led to various roles at different companies. I soon realised that working for a corporate company was not for me. That’s when SuperControl caught my eye! Although it was similar to my previous roles, SuperControl’s working environment felt very different.
“My role as a Database Administrator is very important. I work alongside my colleagues in the Polish office to ensure that the SuperControl database is up to scratch. This means that I often liaise with the development team in Scotland to keep everyone in the loop. Although we live 1259 miles away from each other, we work in harmony as one tribe.
“My journey at SuperControl has been quite the adventure. I’m the man behind the curtain, making sure that the systems run smoothly for our thousands of users. Despite the high volume of members using their accounts simultaneously, I ensure that the servers are kept up to date to optimise the user’s experience. My keen eye for detail plays a large part in your SuperControl account remaining active. As technology continues to evolve, my role is to ensure the SuperControl system offers the very best user experience. It’s fast paced, and certainly keeps me on my toes!
“I enjoy the flexibility of life at SuperControl, it allows me to spend time with my children at home…and sometimes even escape them at the office! My role has led me to meet a range of different people from around the globe, and I always look forward to visiting the team in Scotland.
“SuperControl is a very welcoming place to work, everyone is so friendly! I’m grateful for the opportunities which I’ve been given throughout my years as database administrator. For example, when I attended an open-source database conference I had the chance to learn from many different developers. It was a wonderful experience! It showed that SuperControl genuinely cares about their team’s development.
“I look forward to continuing to find ways to develop SuperControl’s database to enhance the client experience. There is a lot to look forward to, and I’m happy to be a part of it. My short trips to visit #TeamScotland have left me wanting to experience more of the country. In the future, I hope to visit Scotland on holiday to see the mountains and take in more of the rural landscape.”
