2015 highlights
What a year it’s been for the self-catering industry. Here are just a few of our key takeaways:
- Back in Q1 at the VRMA Conference in Dublin, we learned that 92% of guests now expect to be able to book their holiday directly from a property listing, thus underlining the huge importance of offering online booking.
- In April, Google updated its algorithms in favour of mobile-friendly websites. When Google speaks, we all have to listen, so here are some tips for ensuring your website is mobile-friendly and reachable by the estimated 2 billion smartphone users across the world.
- The European Holiday Home Association launched and awarded the inaugural European Holiday Home Awards, which were sponsored by SuperControl.
- In July, we hosted our first self-catering workshop in the South West of England. This was followed by events in Penrith and Belfast and further dates will be announced in the new year. Watch this space.
