Who’s who in SuperControl: Agata Szomszor

We’d like to introduce you Agata Szomszor, our Software Tester who works in the SuperControl office in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

SuperControl Software Tester, Agata

Tell us about your current role

I’m a software tester – I help to build software by verifying that it does what it’s supposed to do. I have been working for SuperControl since August 2016, it’s been two years now.

What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most?

I’ve been a software tester since 2013 and I really like this role, there’s a lot of investigation and puzzles. I love it that my work helps others – clients and developers. When I first entered the IT industry, I was surprised to find out how creative the IT industry is, this is something I really enjoy.

Tell us about yourself

Agata Szomszor, Software Testrer at SuperControlI’m a movie fan. Watching movies is one of my favourite things to do, I wish I could do more of it. I also love baking and cooking, it’s both creative and pragmatic. I really enjoy good food.

The best way to relax for me are long walks/bike rides to places where there are no people (I’m kind of tired of them from living in a city).

I have two little girls who are very good at consuming most of my time, so there’s not much of it left for hobbies.

What is your favourite SuperControl memory?

There are so many, it’s really hard to choose. Being a part of Polish SuperControl team is quite a unique  experience, but I think making a film for this year’s Operation Collaboration (full-team gathering in Scotland) was the best. I was the director and the whole team put a lot of effort into creating a very crazy spy movie, with Robert our Product Director being the villain.

What’s your favourite type of holiday? What do you look for in a holiday rental?

For the last couple of years I have spent my holidays staying in cottages in rural areas with some friends. I find cottages perfect for people with little kids – there is plenty of room to play together and once they fall asleep, the adults can chill out. I always make sure that the area is fenced, has a playground, there’s not many neighbours, interesting places within a half hour drive and the house needs to be pretty 😊. Having a nearby lake to swim in is a bonus!

This year we tried living in a tent for a couple of days and I was happy to see that my girls liked it a lot. I hope to take them camping more and more, so we explore nature together and spend evenings chatting by the fire.
