The Good Vibe Tribe: 2023 Round Up

2023 has been a landmark year for SuperControl’s team, marked by the introduction of The Good Vibe Tribe, our workplace wellbeing group, which is part of our wider workplace wellbeing strategy. Their focus on physical, emotional, environmental and social wellbeing and charitable work has brought new energy and purpose to our team. Here’s a look back at the year’s highlights:

A New Beginning: The Emergence of The Good Vibe Tribe

The year kicked off with the transformation of our wellbeing taskforce into The Good Vibe Tribe. This rebranding represents our dedication to a strategic and purposeful ongoing approach to promoting wellbeing, positivity and a healthy work-life balance. The mission is clear: to improve the lives of our employees, community, and clients with a mighty good vibe!

Charity of the Year: Making a Difference

We made our first mark by selecting Marie Curie in Scotland and the Mudita Association in Poland as our charities of the year. This initiative saw us rallying together for fundraising and awareness activities, strengthening our bond as #OneTribe and highlighting our commitment to community support.

Fun and Games: A Right Royal Sports Day

Injecting a dose of fun, our Right Royal Sports Day was an event to remember. Teams competed in the spirit of friendly rivalry, highlighting our value of teamwork. Special kudos to Robert’s team for their win, and a big thank you to everyone who brought their energy and enthusiasm to the day.

Community Engagement: Car Boot Sale

Our spirit shone brightly at the Dumfries Car Boot Sale, where we raised £225 for Marie Curie. The event was a lively mix of salesmanship and humour, with each member contributing their unique flair to the success of the day.

‘It’s a Knockout’ for Junior Diabetes

We proudly participated in a fun-filled local event known as a ‘It’s a Knockout’. Our team competed not just for the thrill of the challenge but to raise awareness and funds for Junior Diabetes.

Giving Back: Food Bank Donation

Our visit to the Castle Douglas Food Bank was a heartwarming experience, reinforcing our dedication to community service. The Castle Douglas Food Bank has such an energetic community spirit to it, and we were pleased to support their growing need for donations.

Environmental Responsibility: Embracing Recycling Week & Beach Clean

We embraced our role in sustainability by participating in Recycling Week and organising a beach clean at Powillimount Beach. These activities not only helped in environmental conservation but also brought our team together for a noble cause.

Launching the SuperControl Community Initiative: Giving Back, Together

A key achievement this year was the launch of the SuperControl Community Initiative. This initiative represents our commitment to making a tangible difference in our local communities. Each team member now has one day per year they can dedicate to volunteering. We care about empowering every SuperControl employee to give back while enhancing their skills.

Christmas Gift Giving: A New Approach

This Christmas, we’ve taken a heartfelt new approach to our gift-giving tradition. Moving away from the usual Secret Santa, we’ve embraced the “Buy a Gift for a Stranger” initiative in collaboration with Dunelm’s Delivering Joy at Christmas campaign. This aims to spread joy to local schools, care homes, and refugees, ensuring our festive celebrations extend to those who need it most.

As we reflect on the year, it’s clear that The Good Vibe Tribe has made a significant impact on SuperControl and our wider community. Through various initiatives, we have promoted a culture of care, support and joy. Here’s to more fun and collaboration in 2024!
