Occupancy

There are just under 8,000 current bookings for Welsh properties this year. The best occupancy levels are for properties in the Newport area (22%) while properties in Llandudno have the lowest occupancy (15%).

Booking leadtime

Interestingly, the average booking leadtime is quite high – 171 days. And, this ranges from 148 days in Swansea to 224 days in Newport. It might be a good idea to offer guests a last-minute deal or special offer in order to fill any gaps in your availability calendar and boost occupancy. Our guest blog provides some great tips for being “last-minute friendly”.

Length of stay

The average number of nights booked across Wales is five nights. However, properties in Llandudno and Swansea beat this with an average stay of six nights. Meanwhile, in Llandrindod Wells, the average stay is just four nights.

Guests

For bookings at properties across Wales, an average 5% of guests are from overseas. However, for properties in Cardiff, almost one-quarter of bookings (24%) are from overseas guests.

How does this data compare with your own booking figures for the year so far?
