It’s been a good start to the year for self-catering accommodation owners and agencies, with 3,371 bookings taken through SuperControl on Monday; 44% more than ever before in one day.
That’s an average of one booking every 25 seconds!
The second Monday after New Year is traditionally the busiest day of the year for holiday rentals. Booking numbers had exceeded the previous best on five days already this year, so Monday’s final count was eagerly awaited.
2017 so far …
In the UK we ended 2016 hopeful that, despite an eventful year, staycations would remain popular and inbound visitor numbers would continue to rise. 2017 is off to a promising start – as of 10 January, we’ve had:
- 32% more bookings (compared with the same period in 2016).
- £23m bookings.
